Saint Teresa of Avila, reflecting on the Scripture “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you?” (1 Corinthians 6:19), commented that if she had known at a younger age that in the tiny place of her soul, such a great King was living, she would not have left him alone so often.

I just love this illustration, and often wonder at how amazing it is, that the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, would shut Himself into such a little thing as my individual soul (ref. Deuteronomy 30:12-14).

My goal for the New Year is to spend more time seeking and enjoying the presence of God.
